Collegiate Culinaire: Peanut-Butter Puppy Treats
Don’t salivate just yet… These little cookies aren’t for people!
Today was my pet Buddy’s 13th birthday. He’s the cutest little thing, still very much alive and well (and sassy as ever). To celebrate, I tried my hand at this little canine recipe and it went so well. Buddy and my other pups, Sophie and Wesley, gobbled them up.
The one thing I would have done differently? Bought an adorable bone-shaped cookie cutter, of course!
1 cup whole wheat flour
1.5 t baking powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees; lightly grease two cookie sheets.
Blend the peanut butter and milk ‘til smooth. In a larger, separate bowl, mix the baking powder into the flour. Then mix in the peanut butter mixture.
Once a dough forms, knead the mix onto a lightly floured surface. Lightly flour a rolling pin and roll out the dough to about 1/4” thickness. Cut out shapes and transfer to cookie sheets. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the treats start to turn golden brown.
